A plain t-shirt is the perfect canvas for a creative upgrade. In this lesson, SINGER® brand ambassador Emily shows you how to combine two techniques — quilt block appliqué and machine embroidery — to transform a basic tee into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece.
The project is made using the SINGER® SE9180 Sewing & Embroidery Machine, and the result looks far more complex than the process actually is.

Adding a Quilt Block to the T-Shirt
Emily walks you through selecting and preparing a quilt block pattern that complements your shirt, then shows you how to attach it securely and neatly — properly aligned and ready for embroidery.
Embroidering the Center
With the quilt block in place, Emily demonstrates how to hoop the fabric, select the right thread, and choose or create an embroidery design that enhances the block's center. She then stitches it out, adding a personalized finishing detail that pulls the whole project together.
