Creating Endless Borders Using the Endless Feature
As part of the CREATIVATE™ Essential, Extra, and Elite memberships (mySewnet™ Essential, Extra, and Elite Software), you’ll find the powerful Endless Embroidery feature. This guide walks you through how to create an endless border using a design from Design Catalog.
What You Need
- CREATIVATE™ Software (mySewnet™ Embroidery Software)
- Embroidery design used in this exerise - 200045203
How to Create an Endless Border
1. Open a Blank Canvas
Launch Embroidery Software and choose Blank Canvas.
2. Choose Your Hoop
In the Hoop Selection pop-up, select the longest hoop your machine supports.
For this example, the 360 × 260 mm hoop (Natural orientation) was used.
3. Open Your Design
Go to File → Open, locate your design, and load it onto your canvas.
4. Mirror the Design
Use Mirror Side-to-Side to prepare it for Endless alignment.
5. Open the Endless Embroidery Wizard
Click the Endless Embroidery Wizard.
The software will automatically display the design repeated across the chosen hoop using default settings.
Adjusting Your Endless Layout

To customize the spacing and the number of repeats:
Modify the Gap
- Entering a negative number will push repeats closer together or even create an overlap.
- In this example, the Gap was set to –13 mm, creating a slight overlap for a continuous border look.
This adjustment increased the design from 2 repeats to 3.
Make sure the Repeat Embroidery box is checked.
Click OK to apply your settings.
Understanding Your New Endless Group

Your new layout appears as a group in the hoop:
- Displayed in orange in the Filmstrip
- Identified by the Endless icon
- Contains 5 elements:
- Three repeated designs
- Start marker
- End marker
All original color blocks remain intact at this stage.
ColorSort for a Cleaner Stitch-Out

If you want to reduce color changes:
1. Combine + ColorSort
Go to Tools → Combine → ColorSort.
This reduces your design from 8 color blocks down to 3.
- Color Block 1 = Start & End Markers
- Remaining Blocks = Consolidated thread colors
Your embroidery file will automatically display Endless Embroidery in the Notes & Settings.
2. Review Settings
Click Settings to view:
- Hoop
- Gap
- Repeat count
- Alignment settings
These settings are saved with the file and reappear whenever the embroidery is reopened.
You can also view this information by:
- Right-clicking the saved embroidery file
- Choosing the Embroidery tab
Your Endless Border Is Ready!
You can now stitch out your beautiful Endless border.
Choose how you’d like to export:
